Weight Loss is Hard!

January 26, 2020  |  By Digg Deep Fitness & Nutrition
weight loss words on plate

We often hear the simplified version of what it takes to lose weight, but there are multiple factors that go into weight loss.

If weight loss were so easy, there wouldn’t be so many people struggling to lose weight or struggling to keep it off once it’s gone.

Controlling “calories in” sounds easy enough, but there are factors that determine HOW your body will break down and absorb the food. Food does not behave the same in every body. So WHAT you eat can make a bigger difference than HOW MUCH you eat.

Some foods can also control your cravings and hunger levels.

Because food provides your body with information, “calories in” doesn’t tell the complete story. What’s included in those calories will determine weight loss or gain.

“Calories out” sounds simple, too, but, guess what? Nope!

There are so many things that determine how many calories your body burns per day, some of which are listed in the pic above.

Your body burns a different amount of calories every day. That number is not stagnant. That means trying to sum weight loss up with a simple math problem is impossible. The equation changes daily.

If you are struggling to lose weight, there can be many reasons why. The process will be easier for some than others.

But that’s also why “eating less” is an oversimplified way to look at weight loss. There are too many other factors.

We’ll be deep-diving into this topic over the next few weeks as we discuss what it REALLY takes to lose weight and keep it off!

Make sure to follow me on Instagram to catch the videos I will be presenting on this topic.
