Motivation Monday: Frustration

June 24, 2014  |  By Joy Diggs

Try to accomplish ANYTHING over a long enough period of time, and you are bound to feel some type of frustration. Maybe your goal is taking longer to accomplish than you thought it would. Maybe you feel stagnant and that you’re not making any progress at all. Whatever the case may be, frustration is a normal, almost required, component of success. If you take a moment to think about some of the most successful people in the country, their rise to success was rarely a straight line. I like this picture that describes the true road to success:

So what makes us think that our path would be any different? Why do we think we should be immune to setbacks and failures. Think of frustration as a challenge. You can either choose to stand and fight for your goal or you can back down and be defeated. And any goal worth accomplishing is worth the fight. Success isn’t just handed out. It’s earned by those who really want it.  So this week, I challenge you to reevaluate your plan of action, regain your focus, and recommit to pushing towards your goal until you achieve it!
