Have you ever started the day off on the wrong foot and thought, “Today is not my day?” (You may have even thought that today…. Happy Monday!)
What happened next?
Of course, the day continued getting worse and worse, leaving you counting down the minutes until the next day.
What if I told you it was only a “bad day” because you proclaimed it to be a “bad day”?
How?
You are forming your outer world with your inner thoughts. You literally create your own reality.
What you think about gets magnified. What you focus on grabs your attention and formulates your narrative.
Let’s do a quick exercise to demonstrate.
I want you to glance around your surroundings and focus on all the things that are black. Try to make a mental note of all the black items you see.
Take about 60 seconds to really study and memorize all of the black items around you. Count them out.
When 60 seconds is up, close your eyes and visualize the black items, creating the picture in your head.
Now, open your eyes (don’t scroll down until you have completed the above exercise)

How many blue items did you see?
No, that is not a typo.
Without looking around, can you distinctly remember how many blue items you saw?
There are probably plenty of blue items around you. There may even be more blue items around you than black items, but because you were focusing on the black items, you didn’t notice the blue items as much.
And this is how we live our lives.
We give energy and focus to certain things, while ignoring other things that are right in front of us.
Sometimes it just takes shifting our attention to these other things to create massive shifts in our lives.
You control the narrative.
What things have you been giving too much energy and thought to, even though those things are not moving you in a positive direction?
How can you change your narrative this week by refocusing your thoughts and actions?
Make it a great week!
